Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the construction of the new Chinese primary schools (SJKC) approved by the former education minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid on October 26, 2017, has been included under Malaysia Education Ministry (MoE)’s new initiative known as the Donation and Build Initiative.

“This initiative aims to create opportunities for agencies, foundations, non-governmental organisations, corporate entities, and developers to fulfil Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligations and contribute to Malaysian education, particularly in the physical development of MoE educational institutions,” she said. 

She added that the construction for schools in Johor—specifically SJKC Kuek Ho Yao, SJKC Sim Mow Yu, and SJKC Tan Kah Kee—is currently under review while awaiting further developments.
