After earning his MD from the American University of Beirut, he completed his residency at Atlanta Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati and University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Ghulmiyyah joined the faculty at the American University of Beirut, where he served as Head of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division and the Residency Program Director, helping lead the program to ACGME-I accreditation. After the tragic Beirut explosion and deteriorating situation, Dr.
Ghulmiyyah made the difficult decision to relocate back to the United States, joining the faculty at the renowned University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital as the Director of the Labor & Delivery Unit. He developed and served as Director of the Placenta Accreta Center of Excellence.
