Alex O'Loughlin (born 24 August ) is an Australian actor.[1] He is known for his portrayal of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett on CBS' remake of the TV series Hawaii Five-0 (–).
He had starring roles in the films Oyster Farmer () and The Back-up Plan (), as well as on such television series as Moonlight (–) and Three Rivers (–).
Early life
O'Loughlin was born on 24 August ,[2][3] in Canberra, Australia.
He is of Irish and Scottish descent.[4] His father is a physics and astronomy teacher in Sydney and his mother is a nurse.[5][6]
O'Loughlin has stated tha
